Home in Emerald, autumn in full swing

We arrived back home, in Emerald Victoria. Autumn is still in full swing. ๐Ÿ‚

Charging

We charged up for just a few minutes in Yea earlier, since we could fill up cheaper at home. But when we arrived home, our area had a grid outage. Our house PowerWall battery kept our appliances going until the grid was restored.

In an alignment of failures, our solar system also stopped producing electricity ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. So, we canโ€™t charge up the house or car battery from the available sun. Weโ€™ve raised a fault with our installer, Lightning Energy, who can hopefully find out whatโ€™s going on with our Enphase system. Itโ€™s not the first failure.

In the mean time, the grid has reconnected, and weโ€™ve charged up during the cheap power times in the day, when renewables are mostly powering the grid.

    1. Viv Tang Great idea. If only Tesla cars had V2L. One of our neighbours has an MG4 EV with V2L, so they have a portable power station.

    1. Lana Whyte Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹. It seems that there were a few grid outages on Monday and Tuesday. See attached backup log. Our battery kept household appliances going, no problem.

  7. I have a question, when you got your Custom plate did you specifically requested for the โ€œEVโ€ logo on the plate or it comes with it already?

    1. Lynneth Tan Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹. The law requires displaying them. You can buy them from VicRoads or auto shops. Iโ€™ve added details here:
