Wahroonga traffic, then Autopilot tea

Fully Charged Sydney 2024

Off we go from Sydney back to home in Victoria. Slow start with bumper traffic through Wahroonga. Popped the car on Autopilot and poured a cup of tea.

  2. That is dangerous, Tom. Just need a vehicle to turn into your lane and brakes come on fast and you have hot tea all over your legs.

    2. Greg Hayden Good advice! Yes, I wouldn't pour a cup of tea if the traffic around me was actively moving. It was bumper to bumper, under 3km/h (probably stopped) at this point.

I generally use AutoPilot when traffic is bumper to bumper, or on the open highway, but not generally when cars are possibly changing lanes etc. Having said that, Autopilot copes pretty well with other drivers turning, but I agree – not a good time to be pouring tea 😉.

  3. Didn't you get the nag to tell you that you'll be kicked off AP after 3 strikes?

      1. Kylie Gilroy I think it’s five strikes, just for the record, not that I’ve had any issues with that yet

    2. Kylie Gilroy LOL. I have zero strikes. The car was stationary or moving at less than 3km/h at this point.

      1. Tesla Tripping I know hehe I drove almost for 20 mins in AP the other day along Mackay Bucasia Rd due to congestion, didn't touch the wheel once and didn't get a warning 🙊

    1. John Myers We canceled it 😢. It was on the Glovis Caravel ship that was stuck off Brisbane for two months with a stink bug infestation, and was then sent back to Shanghai. Tesla issued a new car and shipped it out, but by then we had well and truly moved from NSW to Victoria, so could no longer complete the NSW rego and subsidy forms etc.

Hopefully we'll order again when the "Juniper" refresh comes out.

      1. Tesla Tripping yes I was aware of the stink bug issues and delays, I think the juniper Y will be at least a year away from reports that it will not be released this year.

      3. John Myers Those reports were for delivery in the USA, so I am hopeful "Juniper" comes out of Shanghai earlier, as we have seen for the Model 3 "Highland" refresh.
