First scratch: the hatch and the roller door

First scratch on the new car ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. The hatch on the Model Y is much higher than our old Model 3. The open hatch fits in our garage, but not with the roller door open, it turns out.

Fortunately, the car allows us to set a maximum height for the hatch to open, and even assign a different height to each location. Just to be safe, I used a cardboard buffer during experimentation.

  1. I'd put it down to a rookie mistake. Yes the height is adjustable, but still need to consider this height issue in many places, especially if the car is parked halfway in or similar.

  2. I did exactly the same thing when I parked in a Melbourne CBD Carpark. Never again! Well, until my wife did it at a friendโ€™s home in Sydney ๐Ÿ˜‘ So I installed a spoiler over the tiny scratches which solved this problem โ˜บ๏ธ

  7. Repco do great colour matched touch up paint, use that and a fine art brush should cover almost perfect. Donโ€™t use the brush that comes with the paint way to chunky.
