Hume Highway quirks of our Model Y Juniper

NSW Central Coast + Seal Rocks 2025

The things you discover while cruising along the endless Hume Highway:

  1. Our new Model Y Juniper seems to have a bug, where turning off AutoPilot also turns off Auto Wipers, so they immediately start going. Might need to lodge a fault.
  2. The navigation shows the weather at our “Final Destination”. Nice!
  3. Logging trucks make me nervous, having seen the “Final Destination” movies.

  2. Wipers automatically go to auto when you engage autopilot and I'm pretty sure when you disengage autopilot they revert to what you previously had it set to etc.

    2. Robert Manser Yes, but this is the opposite situation. The issue is that with wipers set to Auto, when I turn off Autopilot, the wipers change from Auto to speed 2.

  3. If you press the wiper button on the end of the indicator stalk, when not on AP, the wiper controls should pop up.
Then select auto. If not, it's could be a bug.

    1. David Posavec Hi 👋. Yes, that works, except the wipers button is on the steering wheel, in the Juniper model. The issue is that with wipers set to Auto, when I turn off Autopilot, the wipers change from Auto to speed 2.

  4. You need to either turn the wipers onto auto, or turn them off.
If you have the wipers in off or auto do they still turn on if you disable AP?

    1. Jeremy Gilbert The issue is that with wipers set to Auto, when I turn off Autopilot, the wipers change from Auto to speed 2. If wipers are set to off, then they stay off when disabling AutoPilot.
