Asking for Brisbane to Mount Tamborine tips

NSW → QLD Road Trip 2022–23
Photos FB

Tomorrow we're driving from Brisbane to Mount Tamborine, to stay there for a couple of nights. Any suggestions as to:

  1. Which route from Brisbane to Mount Tamborine
  2. Anything to see on the way?
  3. What to see in the next couple of days while there?

After that we'll probably head to Burleigh Heads, then south through Kings Cliff, towards Coffs Harbour.

  1. Linda Mae Reeb suggested: "a trip to natural Bridge & springbrook & also up to of Reilly's". Thank you. What's there? It seems to be about a 2.5 hour round trip to those from Mount Tamborine.

    1. Tesla Tripping beautiful rainforest, bush walks, waterfalls, a huge rock cave with a waterfall, lots of birds & wildlife & if you're really lucky a lyrebird or bower bird. Some nice mountain roads to enjoy in the Tesla - watch your speed - the local cops know about our acceleration! 😜

  2. There is a Glow worm cave at Mt Tamborine. If you go through Canungra stop at the infomation centre...Waynes Aunty Viv works there and will have great ideas of what you can see & do up there. Also there is Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk.

    1. Nicole Mottlee you have to pay for that rainforest walk, unlike O'Rielly 's it is free.

  7. Definitely visit O’Reilly’s and check out the map before you go. Makes Galston Gorge look like a picnic but the views are amazing and loved feeding and interacting with the birds. Rainforest walk awesome too. Totally loved it!

  9. Canungra is a pretty little place with good food at a number of cafe's in the main street. Then you can go onto Springbrook. You can get there from the Beenleigh/Beaudesert Road. There is no EV chargers in this area though. I don't even know if there is any chargers around Tamborine Mt. Obviously it is mountainous area.

  10. Binna Burra is nice as well and have a Destination Charger, although looks like it may not be working currently. 🙁 https://www.plugshare.com/location/265813

  11. Fireflies at night at Curtis Falls. We stayed at Curtis Cottage next door. They were happy to provide power to charge. We walked out the back door & about 100m into Forest & saw so many fireflies. If you are adventurous there is the high ropes course at Thunderbird Park on the way up from Beenleigh.
