Bald Hill in Stanwell Park

NSW → QLD Road Trip 2022–23

No hang gliders today, but there was the usual great view of the coast, Sea Cliff Bridge, and Grand Pacific Drive.

Flying High cafe and Bald Hill and The Ice Cream Van serve all the coffee and snacks you could want.

The bins clearly explain what goes where. Nice job, Woolongong council.

Francis went to the toilet. A few minutes later I heard her laughing. Curious, I tried the adjacent toilet. You press a button to get in, another to close the door. The toilet cubicle then talks to you, warning that you have ten minutes until the doors will open! It plays lift music while you do your business. You press a button to get two sheets of toilet paper at a time. It flushes the toilet when you wash your hands. Quite an experience!

  1. Pretty stressful doing your biz on a time limit, fearing any minute now the door will fly open and you’ll be there on the throne for all the tourists to see.

    1. Francis Brodhurst-Hill get the tissue first and take an umbrella for just in case that door opens, self preservation.

  2. I rode through the Royal National Park in about 1979 in a GS1000G. I had a bee inside my helmet while riding, I stopped really quickly and threw the helmet off. Memories lol

    1. Greg Hayden I used to cruise through there on my BMW K100LT, when I briefly lived in Arncliffe.

I once had a dragonfly in my helmet, but not a bee – ouch!

There was a three wheeler motorcycle (Spyder?) at Bald Hill.

    1. Greg Hayden “flash” meaning fancy, or that we flash the public if the doors open before we’re ready? 😉

      1. Tesla Tripping funny. All stainless steel, electronic toilet roll, water stops spring set. You wouldn't have it in your house, but it stops vandalism.
