Two odd EV-charging spots in Knoxfield

Driving along a random suburban road near a park in Knoxfield, Melbourne, I saw charging spots in this car park. Two tesla chargers and a general EV charger, with clearly painted EV parking on the ground.

However, upon closer inspection, the chargers are just cardboard facsimiles. What is going on? The sign is branded with “SJ Display Group. Innovative retail display solutions”. Weird.

Charging

Free but takes forever 😉.

    1. Tony Forster looks like it just needs a byo type 2 to type 2 cable, something like this one (apparently the 32a three phase 22kW one is the most useful and versatile, even though the Tesla onboard charger only accepts one of the three phases for AC charging this byo cable will charge at 11kW instead of just 7kW)

      1. Keith Strib I have the cable, the question is what card do you unlock it with and where do you get it. The centre office knows nothing.

      2. Tony Forster maybe you only need to plug in the cable for it to work, like the same branded 22kW public charger in the photo that I used on Sunday?

    2. Tony Forster I visited it yesterday. It seems to have power, since pressing the green button makes a beep sound. It seems you have to tap a card or fob to get the light on, but a credit card doesn’t do it. Mystery.
